Future DiverCities

2016-2020

LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is proud to announce its collaboration for the «Future DiverCities» project. The Superact C.I.C. center (Wellington, England) is the lead of the project, which received official support from the European Commission as a part the Creative Europe program. The partnership, formed of organizations spread across 9 European countries, will spend the next four years exploring new models of artistic creation and distribution that promote cultural diversity.

In this international partnership, we will address the issue of creation in the digital era. We will provide interactive and collaborative tools that will enable us to question global societies that impose their own rules and economy on the public and on creation. Through our activities, we question the diversity of works in art, the remuneration of creators and the visibility of independent and emerging artists.

Future DiverCities will focus on these issues by working to build and develop new ways of thinking and experiencing culture as an alternative to mainstream and globalized attitudes. The project will center on the artistic domains of music, digital art and street art.

Led by the UK non-profit organization Superact, the ten partners have been working since 2016 to bring this project to fruition. Here are the organizations that will be involved in the project:

1D Lab - Saint-Étienne, Lyon & Paris, France
ANTI Festival - Kuopio, Finland
BEK - Bergen, Norway
CitiLab - Cornella, Spain
Kontejner - Zagreb, Croatia
LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE - Québec
Liepaja City Council - Latvia
Public Art Lab - Berlin, Germany
Seconde Nature - Aix-en-Provence, France
Superact - Wellington, United Kingdom

The project will include 23 local laboratories, artists residencies, public performances, creativity and participatory events in each partner country and a lot more to come. LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE will collaborate on this project with cross-residences and discussions on the current issues about art and digital.
