As a short lived, unpredictable, dangerous, precarious but solid territory, the ice field is defined as “ a bed of ice of variable thickness formed by frozen sea waters moving along the shore”. This ephemeral territory is the premise of Julie Andrée T.’s residency where she intends to create a series of installations and interventions in the gallery. Pursuing her research of environmental installations that began in February 2005 in Rimouski, and more recently at SKOL, Julie Andrée T. uses sound, video, text and foremost climate as instruments leading to a poetic, sensorial, spatial, temporal and social research. The body (the artist’s or the visitor’s) is always present. It is a decisive factor in all of the artist’s interventions.
