Opening to the public from October 09 to October 25, 2009 - 5@7 on Friday October 09

Between sculptural carpentries, fragments of architectures, modular structures and videoprojections, the artworks of John Cornu present themselves as anchored points sharing intimate links with their context. Both subtle and incongruous, the interventions of the artist reconstitutes spaces in accordance with their topographical and functionnal specificities. Also considering the human presence that occupies these spaces, Cornu modifies them by adding a dose of fiction, by transforming an architecture by digression or outgrowth or by speading types of shapes inspired by plant life. In this spirit, the artist will develop, with Tant que les heures passent, an installation in perfect symbiosis with the unique attributes of the in situ residency. The residency of John Cornu is presented with the financial contribution of the Consulat général de France à Québec.
