Alone in front of the screen, going from the keyboard keys to the mouse, the web navigation is, at first glance, a solitary activity. Nevertheless, thousands of Internet users visit simultaneously the same web site while remaining anonymous and invisible. “DID YOU THINK YOU WERE ALONE HERE” is a work that parasites the LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE web site. This way, the user can discover the presence of other visitors surfing the site. This project is a metaphor for the incommunicability of the society we live in.
Bio
Originaire de Trois-Pistoles, Annie Belzile vit et travaille maintenant à Québec. Passionnée d’informatique depuis sa jeunesse, elle est en voie de terminer son baccalauréat en arts visuels (concentration nouveaux médias) à l’Université Laval. elle travaille principalement à partir des médiums numériques; non seulement l’art web, mais aussi la photographie, la vidéo et l’art audio. En 2006, elle a remporté le prix « L@Ch@mbreBl@nche », qui lui a permis d’entreprendre une résidence en création web à la Chambre Blanche.
