The web project called Moreover will use image, text and narration in order to drive us to questionning perception and our understanding of the events we are going through. . Patrice Duhamel wants to elaborate a site of auto-fiction, in which the navigation interface will be constantly changing, disrupting the links and content they lead to.
Based on the form of a diary, the project will present texts, fix images, moving ones and sounds, that will be constantly rewritten. The site will question narrativity, placing the user in front of an "individual" in a precarious state, whose loneliness entirely destabilizes. Patrice Duhamel wishes to include such an irregulate behaving in this seemingly unruffled reality.
He proposes to introduce "socioaffective accidents" on public stage, (documented) performances that will later be broadcasted as videos on the website.
The matter for him is to maintain the ambivalence between directed scenes and documents, so that one cannot guess whether it is direct or relayed.
Bio
Patrice Duhamel vit et travaille à Montréal. Suite à des études universitaires en art visuel, il s'est intéressé principalement à la vidéo, mais aussi, au dessin et à la photographie. Son travail a fait l'objet d'expositions individuelles et collectives, présentées ici et à l'étranger. Ses bandes vidéo ont été vues dans plusieurs festivals au Québec, mais aussi en France, en Belgique et au Portugal. Depuis plusieurs années, il pratique l'écriture parallèlement à son travail artistique, sous forme d'articles et de communiqués (Parachute, ESSE, ETC Montréal, galerie Clark, Centre des arts actuels Skol, B-312, etc.).
