From July 1st to the 31, 2009, the artist Christophe Viau will be doing a research residency at LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE entitled Produit sphérique. The artist-run-center will then become a sort of incubator, where a goemetry based on the « superformula » of Gielis will unfold under the influence of the space. A second superformula will also evolve at Espace Virtuel in Chicoutimi. The spherical product of these two shapes will result in a unique organic geometry, developped in partnership, ressembling the structure of a seed, a flower, a micro-organism. Jean-François Lahos will integrate geometrical sculptures to an installation made of projections and reactive tables. This project is part of a series centered on the geometry of natural shapes, presented in Quebec province, France and Italy.
