Stéfanie Requin Tremblay |

March 19 to May 11, 2019
Presentation on May 9, 2019 at 5pm

We welcome Stéfanie Requin Tremblay for a research residency from March 19 to May 11, 2019 in our documentation center. On May 9, 2019 at 5pm, Requin Tremblay will read some texts produced during her residency.

Stéfanie Requin Tremblay works from her personal experiences, her obsessions with self-derision. She reflects in particular on the idea of a material memory in the digital age. She also questions the sincerity of our relationship to pop culture, nostalgia, objects and mass media.

In the idea of "printing Internet", she draws on screen images and texts to make printed works, artists' books, fanzines, clothes, pictures, videos, installations and poetry all nourishing an intimate and offbeat universe, privileging minimal and pastel aesthetics.

In recent years, Requin Tremblay has combined her visual practice with her literary practice. She produces incisive images and texts that come to nourish an intimate, funny and violent universe, obsessed by death, hygiene and popular culture.

During her residency in LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE, Stéfanie Requin Tremblay will attempt to expose herself far from the screen and the keyboard in order to benefit from the material documentation of the center in order to share an autobiographical writing project and her residency experience. She will draw inspiration from feminine literatures, self-narratives and writings on extimacy. It is a time where she will be able to focus solely on literary exploration in her practice.
