LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is pleased to welcome Mexican artist Cecilia Barreto for a residence from September 9 to December 7, 2019. Her work in progress will be presented in our gallery from October 31 to November 2, 2019 with an opening on October 31, 2019 at 5pm. Cecilia Barreto aims to produce an installation that reflects our dependence on technological systems and utilizes the vestiges of a post-anthropocentric world. In her production, she wants to show the importance of the data that governs the globalized world and its effect on human activities ranging from virtual disputes in the stock market, to the supervision of individuals' activities on social networks. Her residency is made possible through an agreement between the CALQ and the FONCA under the program Échanges d’artistes et d’ateliers-résidences Québec/Mexique.
