LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is pleased to receive Mélissa Pilon in research residency from August 4 to September 12, 2020. For the past five years, the artist has collected images of crowds that she finds in books, magazines, newspapers and photographers archive. These images of gatherings come from various contexts and offer a unique reading of the photojournalistic image. They look within themselves at the masses, their human interactions and the energy of the bodies in the crowd. In pursuit of this work of which the archive is the heart, Pilon will feed its iconographic base from the archive of LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE. Her research project will also open up to moving images, digital media and writing texts. The presentation of her residency will take place on September 10, 2020.
