LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is pleased to receive Mélissa Pilon in research residence from August 4 to September 12, 2020. For the past five years, the artist has collected images of crowds that she finds in books, magazines, newspapers and photographers archive. These images of gatherings come from various contexts and offer a unique reading of the photojournalistic image. They offer a look at the masses, their human interactions and the energy of the bodies in the crowd. In the pursuit of this work in which the archive is the core, Pilon will feed its iconographic base from the archive of LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE. Her research project will also open up to moving images, digital media and writing texts.
